The Family Stone

The Family Stone
Everett Stone’s family don’t exactly take a liking to girlfriend, and prospective fiancée, Meredith, when he brings her home for the holidays to meet his family. As impending disaster looms, Meredith calls in her free-spirited sister, Julie, to help, but things don’t go quite as expected. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Family Stone”.

· At the beginning of the movie, Meredith is on her phone while Everett is at the gift-wrapping counter. A man wearing a green hat and a woman with a fur coat are walking just behind him and stop at the counter to his left. The scene cuts to a close-up of the clerk and back to Everett. The man and woman are nowhere to be seen.

· Sybil is wearing a sweater, tied around her shoulders when she’s talking to Everett about Meredith changing rooms. She’s still wearing it when she’s helping to get Meredith settled. The sweater is gone when she greets Ben when he arrives but she’s wearing it again a few moments later when she walks into the kitchen with him.

· Meredith is taking her shoes upstairs. Bens asks if she needs a hand and the view shows his shirt is mostly tucked in. It cuts to a front view when he tells her they’re all going to be talking about her and the shirt is untucked.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Everett is getting Julie to try on the engagement ring, but the ring gets stuck on her finger. Kelly walks up behind Everett and asks what’s going on. Kelly’s glasses are on top of his head. The scene cuts to a side view of Kelly and the glasses are on his face. In the next farther view, the glasses are on top of his head again.

“The Family Stone” (2005) stars Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel McAdams, Luke Wilson, Claire Danes, Tyrone Giordano, Brian White and Elizabeth Reaser. It runs 103 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sexual content including dialogue, and drug references.
